Be Youth Blast
is about Business and Entrepreneurship, and is a one-day
conference geared towards youth encouraging entrepreneurship
through education while developing leadership qualities
and promoting self-esteem in young people across the
Southwest.

Community Futures Southwest was pleased to partner with Southwest REDA to
host eight very successful conferences:
- 2003 First Ever Be Youth Blast in Eastend, SK
- 2004 in Herbert, SK
- 2004 in Cabri, SK
- 2005 at Nekaneet First Nations
- 2005 in Kyle, SK
- 2006 in Vanguard, SK, Swift Current, SK, and Burstall,
SK
 Be
Youth Blast features The Lemonade Game led by Vickie Newmeyer
(GM Meridian CFDC), and leads students through the basics
of marketing. Teams of students develop and design a ‘mini-business’
through the creation and promotion of a Lemonade Stand. The
students collaborate, coming up with creative concepts and
innovative ideas, bartering at ‘the lemonade store’,
and bantering to get out of fines. Local celebrities present
a coveted cold hard cash prize to the winning team. Laughter
and learning fills the air as Be Youth Blast always promises
to be a day of fun.
