Call for Proposals for 2010

Proposal deadline is June 12, 2010. The Project Evaluation Committee will evaluate each community proposal and determine the winning proposals by June 30, 2010.

2010 Community Beautification Works project. This year saw 16 application for a total request of $ 26,475.00 7 communities were approved for a total of $ 10,070.00 The recipients are RM of Coulee for historic School Restoration in McMahon, Village of Piapot for signage project, Village of Ernfold for outdoor rink restoration, Village of Success for community hall fix up ,Village of Hodgeville for playground improvements, Village of Frontier for campground improvements, Village of Val Marie for Creation of a village square. Our organization endeavors to " empower communities and individuals to thrive through economic development" Growing Communities one idea at a time

The 2009 winners are:

• Town of Herbert--- Beautification and Notification---- $ 1,215.00
• Town of Kyle--- Beautification---- $ 1,472.64
• Village of Hazlet-- Beautification---- $ 2,000.00
• Town of Leader-- Beautification--- $ 2,000.00
• Village of Richmound--- Beautification--- $ 1,350.00
• Village of Aneroid --- Cemetery restoration--- $ 844.00

                                       Total allocation this year $ 8,881.64

Village of Aneroid

Chairperson Rita Dumonceau presents the community of Aneroid with a cheque in the amount of $ 844.00 to help with the costs of restoring the fencing at the cemetery. General Manager John Parker was in attendance also and with the 13 volunteers 1 mile of fencing was repainted in preparation for their 100th anniversary in 2013. It was a windy day so there was more than just the fence that received some paint!!

Village of Kyle

General Manager John Parker assisted the community of Kyle in their beautification project. Part of the project was fixing the benches in the downtown area and replacement of the old wood. The community received $ 1,472.64

Town of Leader

Mike Laevens made the cheque presentation for$ 2,000.00 to the town on behalf of the Board of Directors and General Manager John Parker worked the volunteers in preparing the flower beds for new pots and doing the weeding and cutting of old dead bush.

Village of Richmound

Richmound received a boost for their community beautification project when General Manager John Parker presented them with a cheque for $ 1,350.00 and donated 4 hors of his time to help them spread a load of Bark mulch around the perennial plants. John's comments were --- Boy when the folks move--- they move!!!

Village of Hazlet

  The Village of hazlet and the Economic Development Committee received a cheque from General Manager John Parker for Beautification---- $ 2,000.00 . Work on the project will commence on Sept 8th 2009.

Town of Herbert

 The town of Herbert received money for their beautification project and included 14 student in the work bee. They received for Beautification and Notification---- $ 1,215.00
