The Community Strategic Planning
Initiative is the first step to rural communities
achieving economic sustainability and growth. By identifying key opportunities
in the region and building on each communities’ strengths, economic impact
is sure to be felt throughout Southwest Saskatchewan. |
Pooling the resources of each community and the sharing
of insight, ideas, and knowledge by community members
will generate new projects and offer direction on how
to achieve that project’s success. Successful community
projects mean economic benefit, to the individual community
and the entire region.
The expected economic impact of
the Community Strategic Planning Initiative through
educating and supporting rural communities, will offer
increased
appreciation and rejuvenated spirit for the rural way
of life and the many opportunities in rural Saskatchewan.
The provision of information will allow rural communities
to make informed choices which may translate into future
business start-ups stimulating regional and local economies
through job creation and wealth generation.
Community Futures Southwest has partnered
with the Towns of Cabri, Leader, and Herbert to host
workshops geared towards
identifying each communities’ strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats in order to develop a community
strategy to move the community forward.
